October 24th marked the first annual city-wide Women’s Seminar on Conflict Resolution. Held at the Howard Johnson hotel, this seminar was a free, all day event specifically designed to be a multi-cultural outreach to the community. Suzanne Hale spoke on dealing with conflict from a Biblical perspective, and Linda Montgomery was able to translate so all the women could learn in their own language. It was a wonderful time of fellowship, music, and learning. The theme was “Tending the Garden of My Heart”, which mirrors the Women’s seminars do ne the last 2 yrs. in Atotonilco, Jalisco Mexico. It was exciting to see over 50 women sharing ideas and getting to know one another, and we look forward to planning next year’s seminar to continue to meet the needs of all the women in our community to grow in healthy relationships based on God’s truths.

Leaders Retreat in the Highlands of Jalisco, Mexico

From October 30th through November 1st, 2008, a team of nine people representing five churches from Yakima ministered to 34 pastors, missionaries and leaders' families in the 3rd Annual Leaders Retreat organized by new Life Hispanic Ministries in the Highlands of Jalisco, Mexico. It was a time of fellowship, learning and rest for the families participating in this annual event. Most of these families are doing pioneer work in different towns in Central Mexico and often lack fellowship and encouragement.

Visit to Lone Rock Bible Church

On the first weekend of May 2008 our General Director visited Lone Rock Bible Church in Stevensville, Montana to present the ministry and to start a relationship of collaboration with this church which is reaching out to the Hispanics in the area. The church will be sending a Short Term Mission Team at the end of July to serve here in Yakima with New Life Hispanic Ministries.
